Topshop S/S Lust List

Summer needs to hurry up! Every high street shop is starting to release their spring/summer collections but it's a shame we don't have the weather to go with it. Here are my picks of Topshop's Spring range...

1. Topshop Wrap Mesh Skater Dress - £46
I really think shades of green suit my pale complexion and ginger hair. I would wear this dress with a pair of sandals and a denim jacket in the day and vamp it up with some killer heels and studded clutch bag for night time.

2. Topshop Roll Back Crop Tee - £10
Topshop's basics are amazing and a white crop tee will be perfect with skirts and shorts this summer.

3. Topshop Fluro Orange Skater Skirt - £16
I'm normally not a fan of fluro colours but they are really growing on me. I think I'd wear this skater skirt with the white crop and to keep my look simple for days in the sun.

4. Topshop Cuty Chic Absail Collar - £20
You can never have too many statement necklaces!

5. Topshop Farah Multi Stud T-Bar Sandals - £55
These beauties are a definite purchase for me! I love the rose gold detailing. Bye bye winter boots, hello sandals (fingers crossed for some sun!)

What will you be buying for a spring/summer update?

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in NW13 Comparison to NW15 & Revlon Colour Stay

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW13 Review

Having a milk bottle complexion is not easy I can tell you! I find most high street foundations make my face orange and don't match my neck, no matter how much I blend. Not even 'Ivory' shades are pale enough, Rimmel and Bourjois, I'm looking at you. I usually pick up MAC's Studio Fix in NW15 or NC15, both are a little too dark but I love the heavy coverage, so it's a compromise.

Lucky MAC has released a few lighter shades to the Studio Fix collection. It comes in NW 10 and NW13. I use NW13 when I have a little more colour and NW10 when I am paler.

MAC Studio Fix is one of my most repurchased pieces of my make-up collection. It's a heavy coverage, I love this finish as I like to cover my dark acne scaring and the formulation stays put all day.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW13 Comprasion to NW15 and Revlon Ivory

Here you can see the comparison between the lightest foundation I own, which is Revlon Colour Stay in Ivory, on the left, NW13 in the middle and the shade NC15 on the right.

NW13 is only a touch lighter but honestly it makes a difference.

What pale foundations do you like?
Any recommendations?

21st Birthday!

I'M OFFICIALLY AN ADULT!
Wednesday 13th of February was my 21st birthday! I went out with friends for drinks on Tuesday night, I danced the night away and ended it with plenty of Texas BBQ pizza!

Here's a little 'What I Wore'...

The dress was part of the ASOS petite range. I just loved how grungey it was! The fit was fantastic on me, the laced bodice back really helped to nip in my waist. The skirt had a short lining underneath leaving the bottom sheer and floaty.
I teamed it with my Jeffrey Campbell Litas and a silver multi chain necklace from Primark.

Me and Frankie, we're joined at the hip!

I'm back at home in Wales and don't have my camera USB so I'll be back to reviews and beauty bits next week!
Enjoy your weekend :)

DIY Illamasqua Freckle Nail Tutorial

Freckles have become the latest nail trend thanks to Illamasqua. Beauty bloggers have been swatching and coveting these spotted pastel paints, but with a hefty price tag of £14.50 per nail polish I thought I'd show you how to create the freckle look with DIY
Just follow the steps below...

1. Start with freshly cleaned and filed nails.

2. Next step is to paint your nails in your favourite colours. I tried to dupe the Illamasqua pastel and nude colours.
Nail Polishes used:
ELF in Desert Haze
Topshop in Parma Violet
Barry M in Mint Green
17 in Mint Choc Chip
Nails Inc Pink from Instyle Magazine

3. I used my Models Own WAH! Nail Art Pen to dot the nails, I made big and small dots to mimic the effect of the freckle nail polish. This look can be achieved by dotting liquid eyeliner in the same way if you don't have a nail art pen.

4. Sephora by OPI's Bare to be Different is a milky opaque shade that is a perfect top coat to finish this freckle effect. The milky colour dulls down the black dots to make it more like the Illasmasqua matte grey specks.

Voilà!

Send me a tweet if you try this DIY freckle nail tutorial out!

Style Me Up #3 - Valentine's Day

So Valentine's Day is a week away for all you lucky ladies that have a boyfriend, (I'm not jealous or anything...), I've planned an outfit that's geek chic!

How cute  is this Topshop dress, perfect for any Valentine's date, whether it be dinner or cinema! It's on sale so be quick before it sells out!

I adore Cambridge satchels, they are the ultimate geek chic accessory! It would be an investment piece that would last you years, perhaps send some hints to your BF! ;)

These Mary Jane shoes remind me of primary school, believe me they are on trend, I'm not just trying to re-live my childhood. They also come in a zingy orange if you like your shoes to make a statement.

This is just cute piece that would just take the look one step further and it's only £6!

Everyone is wearing frilly socks, whether it be with Mary Jane's like I have styled or with boots and heels, perfect accessory that keeps your outfit on trend but also fun.

What will you be wearing on Valentine's Day?

Free Blog Button Swap!

So many bloggers are charging for monthly advertising but not all of us have cash to splash in this area but want more blog coverage. I have a solution...

I'm proposing doing a blog button swap, where you can have a blog button on my blog as long as mine is posted on yours! This will be a first come first serve basis as I wouldn't like to go over 5-6 buttons.
IT'S COMPLETELY FREE!

You'll need to tweet me @cherriesbeauty if you are interested and provide me with a blog button with dimensions of around 300 x 200, otherwise it won't fit in my layout!

My brand spanking new button is below.
Get in touch if you are interested!
